Seabrook Dining

The Seabrook Dining Room has offered residents a superb dining experience since its inception. Our lunch menu offers soup, fruit and salad bar and includes six (6) different entrees. Residents order from a different menu each day and always have the option to order ala carte items.

Dinner is a nightly extravaganza with residents having the option to serve themselves at the buffet bar or enjoy table service from the menu. There is a salad/fruit bar, a bar for entrees (always three available – meat, vegetarian and seafood) and side dishes (vegetables and starches) and a dessert bar compliments of our pastry chef. Of course, a glass of wine or beer is available.

Lunch and Dinner are served Monday through Saturday, with our fabulous Seabrook Brunch the only meal on Sunday. Residents are treated each holiday with a special dining experience, complete with table decorations and live music.

The Resident’s Monthly Fee includes one meal each day and residents have the option to have both meals in the dining room by paying the member rate for lunch.

Residents have the option to do “take-out” by placing their order in advance and picking it up before 4:45pm or personally going through the self-serve buffet bar. Meals can be delivered for a small service fee.

Seabrook's Culinary Team

The most important health benefit offered by The Seabrook of Hilton Head is the opportunity for socialization. Attending special events and parties, along with the camaraderie of our gregarious residents’ are the vital ingredients to happiness and living a long and vibrant life. Of course, it makes all those memorable times that more special if you offer a world-class dining experience as well.

Our picturesque waterfront dining rooms, exquisite service and mouth-watering food are not unlike anything you would encounter on any major cruise line. It’s just another reason why The Seabrook is a uniquely different retirement community.

The Seabrook’s Director of Dietary & Dining Services, Lea Lapsley, is a fourth generation restaurateur. Lea has a lifetime of experience in the culinary arena and joined the Seabrook Culinary team in 1996.

Terry Ziff is the Assistant Director of Dietary & Dining Services. Terry is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. With over thirty years of culinary experiences from hotels to numerous country clubs, Terry has been with The Seabrook for four years.

The Seabrook chefs, graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, lead the team to give the utmost attention to the desires and tastes of their residents. You might have a favorite recipe our chefs can recreate for your dining pleasure.

The dedicated team of Lea and Terry listen to their residents. They are responsible for menu creations, planning nutritionally sound meals that are pleasing to the eye as well as the palette of our Seabrook residents. They also keep with the highest sanitation practices, purchase all dietary supplies, and contribute to staff development. Party planning and catering services for special occasions are also on the menu. They have a strong commitment to serve the freshest foods and prepare them well.

Our nutritious and delectable meals include; fresh shellfish & seafood, prime meats, poultry, fowl, and ripe produce. With deliveries six (6) days a week, our skilled pantry chefs prepare fresh tantalizing salads each day. Our bakers prepare delectable treats to satisfy the sweet tooth at the end of every meal. No sugar added bakery items, puddings, and ice creams are always available for those that are sugar sensitive.

Lunch is served Monday through Saturday with full table service. Unlike other communities, the menu changes daily. Dinner is also served Monday through Saturday with full table service available if desired. The menu does change daily as well. Our residents enjoy having the evening meals displayed buffet style so they can view the dishes before making their selections.

Sunday Brunch is available beginning at noon. The menu offers both breakfast and lunch selections with a vast array of homemade baked goods.

The week is kicked-off with our signature Happy Hour every Monday at 5pm, which includes complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks. We do it all over again on Fridays at 5pm to get folks ready for the weekend. Music is typically part of this social affair which brings out the best of our residents’ singing ability.

Theme events, special holiday meals and seasonal meals such as summer picnics are just a few of the culinary functions and array of social activities offered at The Seabrook.

Our Culinary Team listens to their residents’ desires and has the flexibility of an independent business platform that is characteristic of a “not for profit” organization. Unlike a corporation looking for a large profit at year’s end, The Seabrook can provide a level of dining quality that is well above the industry standard.

Meal time is for relaxation, socialization and enjoying the pleasure of a delicious meal. The Seabrook consistently offers the best food on the island – bar none. Just ask our residents.
