Health Services

The Seabrook is classified as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). By definition, our campus must offer independent living, assisted living care and skilled-nursing accommodations for our residents. The Seabrook has 206 independent living units and a top-rated skilled-nursing facility: The Fraser Health Center (33 private rooms). Assisted living-type care services are provided in our Members’ residence by our Home Health and Wellness department. By not having dedicated housing for assisted living, residents are allowed to stay in their homes longer, receive the care they need, and have one less “emotional move” to deal with.

Home Health and Wellness

The Seabrook’s Home Health and Wellness department provides an array of health services – whether it’s in their office or in the resident’s apartment. Many services are provided at no charge, such as: health consultations, blood pressure monitoring and emergency call response. The Home Health and Wellness department is headed up by Carolyn Gemmell, a RN, and the staffed with licensed nurses (LPN's), certified nursing assistants (CNA's) and companions/care helpers. The staff provides a wide-range of health services including: wound care, medication management, lab work, allergy injections, assistance with doctors’ appointments and other care.  Home Health also provides home health aides for morning or evening care assisting residents with daily tasks. Longer companion care periods can be provided if needed: from 4 to 24 hours. Bottom line: health services are conveniently available at affordable rates and you can continue to live in your own home.
